THE YOUNG AND GIFTED TALENTS
are as usual not forgotten and have always had a high ranking in our festival. Many of them are already highly acclaimed prize winners of music competitions. Out of its nature, these concerts embrace the audience with energy and emotions given by young artists who show an asthonishing high grade of both technical and musical skills as well as maturity.
MUSICANORD - the CONCERT MAKER OF BERGEN
With more than 2200 concerts organized since 1993, MusicaNord has earned a reputation as the Concert Maker of Bergen. The foundation MusicaNord was establsihed in 1991. We opened our first concert serie in 1993 in the home of ancient violon virtuoso Ole Bull (1810 - 1880), and had concerts there for 5 years., whereupon we started the FLOIEN CONCERTS, with 70 concerts every summer at the Top of Floien Mountain, followed by BERGEN INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL, which eventually became GRIEG IN BERGEN.
In 2004, MusicaNord established the Ole Bull Prize.
MusicaNord has through the years also produced numerous events like the Bergen Story, the Grieg Concert & Story (both events performed numerous times), closed events for conferences and congresses, and different events focusing on chamber music.
The violinist Michael Süssmann has been artistic diretor since the very first concert in 1993.
