Biographies
Former teachers : Sigyn Fossnes, Alf Richard Kraggerud, Soon-Mi Chung. She made her orchestral debut at age 9, as soloist with Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra performing for the Royal families of Norway, Sweden and Denmark. After that she has been soloist three times with them. She has been soloist with various orchestras including Stavanger Symphony Orchestra ,Arctic Philharmonic, Wroclaw Philharmonic, Montpellier National Opera, Originalklang Orchester L`arpa festante München and Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps. She has played at Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Stavanger Chamber Music Festival, Vendsyssel Festival, Hellerup Chambermusic Society, Halvorsens Musikkfest and Valdres Sommersymfoni and many other festivals in Norway and abroad.
Alma won 1. prize in Virtuos 2022 , as well as three other 1st. prizes in Norway. She has received the Norwegian Soloist Prize 2022 as well as Øivind Bergh Memorial Prize 2022. She won 3rd. prize in Eurovision Young Musician 2022. Alma was awarded Ånun Lund Rej’s Prize for her creativity as composer and musician. The Swedish association Kvast which works for promotions of female composers, chose to include Alma after her duo «Laments Music» was viewed more then 100k on social media. Her composition «The Untold Myth» a piece for full orchestra was played by Oslo Philharmonic in 2022.
She plays frequently for Dora Schwarzberg and Vilde Frang. She has collaborated with Oslo Philharmonic in a film about Alfred Nobel and the Peace Prize Winners. Alma has played concerts with Alexander Sitkovetsky , Torleif Thedeen , Andreas Brantelied , Eivind Ringstad ,Razvan Popovici, Clare Hammond, Christian Ihle Hadland, Christian Li, Ludvig Gudim.
She will play recital at «The Bergen International Festival» with Natallia Papova in May 2023. And also Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra as well as Trondheim Symphony. Alma has performed several concerts with her father Henning Kraggerud.Together with her brothers Hector(piano) and Franz(cello) she premiered «Tales from the Enchanted Forest» with orchestra , summer 2022. She has played several times for The Norwegian Government including «The Abel Prize» and Theupcoming «Kavli Prize». During the years she has been featured several times by Norwegian television. Conductors she has performed with includes: Pierre Dumoussaud, Peter Szilvay ,Ingar Bergby, Christian Eggen, Halldis Rønning, Gudrun Dahlkvist, Christian Schmitt ,Thomas Rimul, Eldar Nilsen, Henning Kraggerud.
Alma has generously been loaned a fine Guarneri violin which was Piotr Janowskis concert instrument.
NATALLIA PAPOVA studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo (2006-2009), where she got her Master’s degree in solo performance under the leading of professor Håvard Gimse and Leif Ove Andsnes. Papova has been actively performing over the last couple of decades both as a soloist and a chamber musician, and has appeared at festivals such as Oslo Kammermusikkfestival, Fjord Cadenza, Valdres Sommersymfoni, Festspillene i Bergen, as well as in concert tours in Norway and abroad, France, Belarus, Lithuania, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Austria, China and USA. Papova has been awarded with several prizes and grants. In 2003 she won the first prize at the Piano competition at the Belarusian Academy of Music. She was also awarded with a diploma of semi-final at the “M.K.Ciurlionis” International Piano and Organ Competition in 2003 (Vilnius, Lithuania), and got third prize at The Nordic Kokkola Lied Competition for duos (2007, Kokkola, Finland).
Since 2007 she’s being teaching at Barratt Due Institute of Music as an Assistant Professor in piano accompaniment at the Young Talents and the Academy departments.
