Biographies
In 2017 and 2019 she participated in the Aurora Music Masterclass of Opera and Lied in Sweden, where she performed many recitals together with Gitta-Maria Sjöberg, Gisela Stille and John Lundgren.
Daniela Iancu had her debut in the role of Azucena in Verdi’s The Troubadour at the Romanian National Opera în Timisoara in 2000. In the same theatre she sang Ulrica in Verdi’s A Masked Ball. In March 2013 she made her solo debut in Bergen, Norway. In Den Nye Opera’s production of The Cunning Little Vixen by Leoš Janáček, she sang the roles of the Forest’s wife and the Owl.
Daniela Iancu has been a soloist in several works, including: Haydn’s The Creation, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem, Kronungsmesse, Beethoven’s 9th symphony, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, Schumann’s Paradise and the Peri, Verdi’s Requiem, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music and Respighi’s Lauda per la Natività del Signore.
Iancu is currently working with Bergen National Opera, Edvard Grieg Korene and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. She performs both as a soloist and a choir singer from 2010, as well as working as a freelancer.
Mai Goto graduated from Osaka University of Music, Japan, where she studied with Atsuhiko Shimizu, and continued her studies with György Nádor at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. She has a Master's degree from the Grieg Academy, University of Bergen, where she studied with Signe Bakke and Torleif Torgersen.
In July 2020, Mai Goto received the 1st prize of the "Emil Rotundu"competition,in Romania. Ealier, she was awarded the 1st prize in “The 24th International Music Competition Rovero d'Oro” in Italy, in 2009.
Mai Goto is active both as a soloist and as a chamber musician, and has played concerts in Europe, USA and Japan.
