AN EXOTIC FAREWELL CONCERT
SATURDAY 24. AUGUST at 7.30 pm
ELLAYALI - Music without borders
The last concert in our season is also the most exotic one. Rhythmic oriental tunes, hand in hand with lyrical psalms. Music from the middle East performed on original instruments, by musicians who have what it takes for a performance of the highest level; marvellously orchestrated - and also with Edvard Grieg fitted naturally into the program.

BIOGRAPHY
ELLAYALI was founded 15 years ago by Berit Bagøien Moe, who is also the pianist in Ellayali. This multicultural ensemble consists of 12 musicians and one flamenco dancer, from 6 different ... nations (Israel, Iraq, Iran, Morocco, Norway and Iceland).

The audience will get to hear catchy music from the Middle East, beautiful Norwegian folk tunes, charming classical melodies – and they will experience exciting flamenco dancing!

Ellayali has participated in festivals such as Olavsfestdagene in Trondheim, Oslo Grieg Festival, Oslo Opera Festival, the ERAS Festival in Oslo, the UIO Festival in Oslo and the Sørum Festival. They have performed for an audience of more than 1000 people in the desert in Morocco, they have played at countless support concerts, performed at Riksscenen in Oslo, given a concert during the Iraqi Culture Days, and a CD Release concert at the Cosmpolite Stage in Oslo. The last 4 years, Ellayali has given annual Christmas concerts in Grønland Church in Oslo, together with the multicultural children’s orchestra Tøyen orkester.
