-So why is it then, that the songs play such a prominent role in my production? Quite simply the fact that I, like other mortals, once in mye life was highly gifted. And that gift was Love. I loved a young girl with a beautiful voice and just as beautiful a delivery. This girl became my wife and life partner to this very day. I venture to say that for me she is still the only true interpreter of my songs! My songs came about as of necessity and were all made for her...

BIOGRAPHIES
OLIVIERO HASSAN-SAAVEDRA has been a member of Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra's viola section since 2008. He originally studied the violin with Marianna Sirbú at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig. Having grown up in Berlin, his first violin teachers had been Amadeus Heutling of the Berlin Philharmonic, and Abraham Jaffé.

It was only in 2007 that a befriended violist recommended him to try the viola, and Oliviero instantly took to the beauty of the viola's warm sound. He then attended several viola masterclasses, among others with Lars Anders Tomter and Lawrence Power at the Aurora Masterclass 2011 in Sweden.

Before joining the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Oliviero has played with numerous German orchestras, such as SWR Baden-Baden & Freiburg, the NDR Radiophilharmonie, Hamburger Symphoniker and others. He plays a viola by Michael Stürtzenhofecker from 2012.

Born in the UK, ELLENA HALE studied piano at the Yehudi Menuhin School with teachers Irina Zaritskaya and Marcel Baudet. She continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in solo piano, and a Masters in piano accompaniment with Hamish Milne and Michael Dussek. While completing her studies, she won various prizes for both solo piano and accompaniment, including the Royal Academy of Music Accompaniment prize. From 2012 to 2014, Ellena was the John Wilson Junior Fellow at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, specializing in instrumental accompaniment.

As a versatile pianist, Ellena has been busy performing as a soloist, chamber Musician, and accompanist. Previous engagements in the UK include performances at the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Kings Place, Cheltenham Music Festival, Aldeburgh Music Festival, and concerto appearances at the Cadogan Hall with the English School Orchestra, and Fairfields Hall with the London Mozart Players. In 2016, engagements have included a recital with violinist Miriam Davis at St. Martin in the Fields, London, a recital for voice and solo piano at Kode Art Museum in Bergen in collaboration with the ‘Kunst i Kamp’ exhibition, a recital in Grenoble, France, and a series of concerts at Festival Contrastes in
Tournai, Belgium.

Ellena is also busy in the contemporary music scene, collaborating with composers and performing their new works for solo and chamber piano. She is currently a member of the contemporary music group Ensemble Matisse, which has been a Park Lane Group (PLG) young artist since 2013.
