BIOGRAPHIES

AMALIE STALHEIM (born 1993) is a native of Bergen. In January 2018, Amalie won the Swedish Soloist Prize, thereby becoming an Artist in Residence for the Swedish Radio P2 for the next two years.
Highlights for the upcoming season include soloist appearances with the Royal Philharmonics in Stockholm, the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, The Swedish Radio Orchestra and several others.

Amalie has been a prize winner in both the Ljunggrenska Competition (Gothenburg) and the YAMAHA Foundation Europe. She has also been nominated for the Statoil Scholarship both in 2016 and in 2017. Amalie is currently studying for her Soloist’s diploma at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. She plays a cello built in 1687 by F. Ruggieri, generously on loan from the Anders Sveaas Foundation.

After winning the Swedish Soloist Prize in 2014, Sweden’s foremost music competition, the Stockholm based Swedish-Chinese pianist DAVID HUANG (born 1988) has established himself among the most important and noteworthy young artists in Scandinavia today.
He was selected as Artist in Residence for the Swedish Radio P2 in the 2015/2016 season, and he has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Swedish Radio Orchestra, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Gävle Symohny Orchestra, and the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, among others.

David won 1st prize in the Vera Lotar-Schevchenko International Piano Competition in Ekaterinburg in 2012. This made him historical, as the first Swede ever to win a piano competition in Russia.

David studied with professor Stefan Bojsten at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, and with professors Jiri Hlinka and Håvard Gimse at the Barratt Due Institute of music in Oslo. He finished his studies with a Soloist’s diploma at Edsberg Castle in Stockholm.

David and Amalie met during their chamber music studies in Stockholm – Edsberg Castle, in 2012, and has been regular duo partners since.
